Making of Hat

Creating Hat:
First I created a flat cylinder for the base of the hat, I made it slightly wavy to represent the brim of the hat bending by moving around the edges of the shape. I then added a cone shape on top of it, and removed the bottom faces to make it hollow. I then added thickness by extruding the edges. Pressing CTRL + E and changing the thickness setting.
From here I carefully moved around the vertices to create the look of material folding and bent the tip of the hat down to make it seem slightly flopped over.
I then added a donut around the hat for the ribbon and 3 spheres for the berries. I flattened the donut to make it seem more like a ribbon but I think it still ended up a bit too thick.
I tried to remove part of the bottom of the hat to make the entire thing hollow but it turned out very badly. I couldn’t replace enough of the faces to make the shape connect again.
For the textures I carefully painted on in substance but as I had connected them so strangely it was very difficult to make them neat. They are fabric textures.
Inspiration:
For this I wanted a soft fabric hat for Merlin to wear. I wanted the whole thing, including the berries, to look knitted, as though made by someone that thought he should have it.
