Making of Keys and Pots

Creating Keys
I made a lot of donuts and made one very thin to hang the keys on. I then added some cubes and cylinders to create the key shape and brought them all together.
For the texture of the keys I added rusted and copper metals in substance painter.
Key Inspiration
For this I wanted them to look like old, chunky keys. Perfectly cut keys wouldn’t have existed in medieval times, and most door would use the same key. Though I wish I added a lot more variation.

Creating Pots:
For this I created a curve using the curve tool, then rotated the planes around it to create a pot shape. I then converted the curve shape to polygons and made the pot thicker. I made two in different shapes as one seemed too simple.
Textures for the pots I used maya marble and stucco patterns. I messed with them a bit to make them look a bit more medieval and less like they belonged in a modern art exhibit.
I think I could’ve made these more complex.
For inspiration on the pots, I just made pots quite honestly. A pot shape for a simple pot. The textures I added were fancier to suit a castle setting.
For animation:
I attempted to animate it multiple times, but the render crashed my pc. I couldn’t connect to horizon PCs and tried very hard. I hope this doesn’t count too harshly against me, but the attempts were made and I hope that with access to on campus PCs again I can create one even just for myself to display what I’ve made. 🙂
