Individual Role

My role in the Team Project is as an Artist and Team Leader.

My job responsibilities as an Artist include making and designing artwork for the storefront, designing layout or floorplans and designing our custom controllers.

Due to many years of practicing art I am hoping that my strengths lie here for this project. I have a lot of ideas and I am hoping to realise them in whatever we manage to create. I am hoping for quality over quantity.

My responsibilities as Team Leader are making sure everyone knows what they’re doing and when they’re doing it for. Making sure they’re comfortable with the work load and coming up with a schedule that suits individuals.

I have taken on this role as the only one that wanted to out of both of us. I am not entirely confident in myself for leading a team, but I plan to make sure we have schedules and plans that suit us both. I am hoping that previous experience as a course rep helps me figure out how to organise others.

When we were discussing what roles people would play in a group in a classroom, I decided I was more of a second in command, we watched a video of an orchestra and were told to choose the person most like us. The conductor was considered to be a group leader and the whistler more of a second in command. I chose the whistler, but I will step up to the role of conductor on behalf of my teammate.

After this experience I hope I will have more confidence in myself for leading a team, and if not learn things to work on and improve to become better at it.
