Character Description in narrative terms
The character I designed is a race similar to Satyrs, they live on Svalbard. They’re called Vandrikk a combination of nomad in Russian and wanderer in Norwegian. They live on the frozen tundra in the north and south national parks. They travel in small tribes, and eat walrus, seal, seaweed and any fish they can find. If a human comes across them and their magical wards do not work, they will kill and eat the human, and use all pieces they can of them. They respect life and despise waste. They carry a small shelter on their back, just big enough to hold their supplies made of bone and furs. They use this as a small house when they camp. They have dark skin to protect from sunlight and white hair to blend with the snow. They have horns and hooves they cover in bones to protect from the cold. Their eyes are blue, but in the dark they turn completely black as the pupil expands. They have tattoos on their head to display mastery over nature and magic, the more tattoos the more knowledgeable they are. Their magic is weak, they use it only to confuse prey and predators. They can conjure snowstorms or avalanches, or heal the sick.

Men and women play very different roles and have visual differences. Men are smaller, and grow a lot more hair on their heads and legs which helps protect from cold, because of this they are usually healers or fishermen. They need less furs and wear less clothing, sometimes none. They care for the young and will carry children when travelling.

Women are bigger, and grow no hair on their heads and thinner hair on their legs. Because of this they gain weight quickly in order to stay warm. They will usually wear furs, and have longer, sharper horns and claws.
All Vandrikk are small and lighter than humans in general to help prevent them sinking into snowdrifts or causing an unwanted avalanche.
Both men and women wear shoes made of bone in order to protect their hooves while travelling through the snow. Women will sometimes carve sharp claws into them.
They cannot swim, and when they aren’t hunting or fishing, they will avoid open water at all costs.
They revere the aurora borealis and believe their power comes from the lights. They call it the celestial veil and believe it is where spirits return to when they die.
Their society is matriarchal but small. Alongside every matriarch is a prophetic Vandrikk, there is one in every clan. They predict weather and migration patterns in order to protect their people and their visions are never wrong.
The character I have made is this prophet. He is a male Vandrikk and his name is Falki, a name that means sky or falcon.
