Intro to my Project
I have chosen to create a 2D Illustration, recreating the heart and hopefully style of the art of League of Legends champion splash arts.
I aim to design a character, but also to create a ‘splash’ art, showing them in a setting you’d find them in related to their backstory and origins.
These splash arts can be incredibly detailed, and make characters easily identifiable. I hope to capture this in my own piece. I want to make sure they stand out and are memorable.

I chose a 2D Illustration as this is what I want to specialise in after university. I want one full portfolio piece with proper planning and writing to use when applying for work after university.
I’ve chosen League of Legends as a base for my inspirations and research due the the carefully curated and polished style they developed over the years. On top of being a big fan of game for a very long time, I have had an interest in their art journey too. Their art is what inspired me to come to university, and I hope I can live up to their legacy in whatever I create.

I have always been an artist since I was very young, but I only started to refine that after coming to University. This is a big project to undertake because of this but that’s also why I chose it. It will challenge me to improve my skills while making something I’m passionate about for an important purpose. I aim to grow from whatever I create and be proud of it however it comes out.
