Making of Cauldron

Creating Cauldron:
I created the cauldron shape using curves and rotating it. I then resized and squished it to look more cauldron shaped. I then added it onto a platform using a cylinder and added a handle by using a very thin donut and chopping it in half by removing faces.
For texture I added this by assigning a material, then next to colour in the attribute editor clicking the box and adding a file texture. I found some rusted metal and added it.
I changed my mind on texture after learning more. And added a scraped metal texture in substance.
Cauldron inspiration:
I wanted the cauldron to look medieval, but also shiny and and not very used but with signs of fresh scratches. In a castle things like this would be easily replacable, so why would it be old and rusty?
